Arise Sir Bradley Wiggins! Next the Freedom of Westminster?

Westminster sends it congratulations to Maida Vale’s Sir Bradley Wiggins, the first Briton ever to win the Tour de France and a winner of seven Olympic medals, including four golds including one at London 2012: he now shares the title of Britain’s most decorated Olympian of all time.

He founded the Bradley Wiggins Foundation, a charity which aims to promote participation in sport and provide equipment and facilities for local clubs. He is also an ambassador for Joining Jack, which aims to raise awareness of muscular dystrophy and to develop a cure.

At the Council meeting on 23rd January we will be proposing that a special meeting be called so that Sir Bradley Wiggins is given the Freedom of Westminster.
