120 Westminster families have been in bed & breakfast accommodation for more than 6 weeks.

Despite warnings from the Housing Minister that Westminster Council is acting unlawfully, there are still 120 Westminster families who have been in bed & breakfast accommodation for more than 6 weeks.

Westminster City Council was told in November 2012 by Housing Minister Mark Prisk MP that its continued placing of families in Bed & Breakfast for more than six weeks is “unlawful and unacceptable”. The letter from Housing Minister Mark Prisk MP to Karen Buck on 29th November followed a letter in April 2012 from former Housing Minister Grant Shapps MP to Council Leader Philippa Roe making a similar point.
