Only 1 hour to discuss Mayor’s plans to close 3 Westminster police stations

Why has the Mayor only given Westminster residents 1 hour to comment on his plans to close three police stations – at Harrow Road, St John’s Wood and Marylebone?

The ‘Consultation’ meeting is on Thursday Jan 31, 5pm-6pm at the Salvation Army, Regent Hall, 275 Oxford St, W1C 2DJ

You even have to register in advance at: http://www.london.gov.uk/webform/sign-attend-mopac-consultation-event

Councillor Paul Dimoldenberg, Leader of the Labour Group; said;

“It is very disappointing that there is only one hour to discuss the proposals to close three of Westminster’s police stations, all of which serve the north of the borough. This does not inspire confidence that this is proper consultation and gives the very strong impression that the decision to close the three police stations has already been taken and the ‘consultation’ is simply a ‘tick box’ exercise.”

If you can’t attend the meeting you fill out a questionnaire online before March 6 here: http://www.smart-survey.co.uk/v.asp?i=67232epffs
