3% swing to Labour in Marylebone High Street Ward

Nik Slingsby achieved a 3% swing to Labour at yesterday’s Marylebone High Street ward by–election.

The full result was

Conservative – 921
Labour – 203
Marylebone Residents – 184
Lib Dem – 104
Ukip – 96
Green – 50

Nik said;

“I would like to congratulate Iain Bott on his victory and to thank all my supporters and campaign team for a magnificent effort. The swing to Labour, together with the big vote for the Marylebone Residents candidate, shows the extent to which the Council’s plans for Moxon Street and Luxborough Street have divided the community. There is still time for the Council to pull back from its current plans and to listen to the community.”
