Marylebone Streets in the top five for UK crime

According to police figures, Seymour Street in Marylebone is the fifth worst street in the UK for crime, with 1,613 reported offences between January 2012 and June 2013.

In addition, Marylebone Lane is the third worst street in the UK for Car Crime (with 81 reported offences) and Curzon Street is the fourth worst in the UK with 80 reported offences.

Victoria Coach Station is the worst location in the UK for Drug Crime with 581 offences.

The figures are reported in the Daily Mail;

Councillor Paul Dimoldenberg, Leader of the Labour Group, said;

“These figures are truly shocking and show the folly of the Mayor’s decision to close three Police Stations in Westminster, including the one in Seymour Street. At the heart of the capital, Westminster residents and businesses need to be assured that the police have sufficient resources to tackle these high crime figures so that our streets can be safe and property protected.”
