Closure of Westminster Fire Station – Nothing is more important than the lives and welfare of our residents

Fire Station strike

“As a resident of Westminster, I am deeply concerned that Boris Johnson’s cuts to the fire service, which begin today, will endanger lives across our capital. 10 fire stations, 12 fire engines and 550 fire fighters will be cut, including Westminster Fire station leading to significantly increased response times to incidents across London. These cuts will result in a nominal saving per taxpayer, and unfortunately will prove to be a false economy. Nothing is more important than the lives and welfare of our residents.”
