Safety concern at decision to cut Lupus Street crossing time to just 6 seconds

Labour Councillors have raised safety concerns that pedestrians only have 6 seconds to cross the road at the crossroads of Lupus Street, St George’s Drive and Claverton Street which is close to both Churchill Gardens Primary School and Pimlico Academy, following the Mayor’s decision to reduce the time that pedestrians have to cross the road at 89 crossings across Westminster.

Councillors are also concerned that crossing times have been cut to just 6 seconds at the junction of Victoria Street, Palace Street and Thirleby Road, where a cyclist was killed last April.
