Westminster Labour wins four more seats in best result since 1990

Labour has won four more seats on Westminster Council to bring the total number of Labour Councillors to 16 out of 60 – the highest number of Labour Councillors since 1990.


4 cllrs

Labour’s Murad Gassanly, Samim Talukder and Jason Thomas Williams won Churchill ward back from the Conservatives after 24 years. The full result is here http://transact.westminster.gov.uk/docstores/publications_store/elections/2014/results/churchill-election-results-2014.pdf

And Labour’s Rita Begum won one of the Maida Vale Ward seats from the Conservatives, again, after 24 years. The full result is here

  2. Congratulations!! Will you now scrap the plan to demolish the Jubilee centre in Queen’s Park, as you promised? I can’t wait to celebrate that moment too!!

    • Patrizio, a great result in Queen’s Park and 4 more Labour Councillors but sadly we did not win control of the Council. We will fight on against the Council plans to demolish the Jubilee Sports Centre.
