Westminster Conservatives leave Council flats empty and boarded up

Westbury House
Westminster Conservatives are leaving Council homes vacant while there are hundreds of local families living in overcrowded conditions and in expensive temporary hotel accommodation, according to Labour Councillors who say they have seen boarded up flats on the Hallfield Estate in Bayswater and empty flats in Westbury House on Westbourne Park Road.

Councillor Paul Dimoldenberg, Leader of the Labour Group, said;

“There is no excuse for leaving Council flats empty and boarded up when there are so many local families living in overcrowded conditions and in expensive temporary hotel accommodation miles from Westminster. Westminster Conservatives are not only guilty of ignoring those most in need but also of losing the Council a great deal of money by keeping so many flats empty for so long.”
