Westminster Labour Group announces its new team

Westminster Labour Group has made some changes as it prepares for the next few years working hard for local residents. After 11 successful years Councillor Paul Dimoldenberg has retired as group leader but will stay on leading Westminster Labour’s work on the built environment and as a councillor in Queen’s Park.

Labour’s new leader Councillor Adam Hug paid tribute to Councillor Dimoldenberg, saying:

“Paul has led the fight for Labour values in Westminster for the last 11 years with great skill, passion and commitment. He is a huge act to follow and I am delighted that he will continue to play an active role in helping us fight for social justice and a fairer Westminster. I am excited by the challenge ahead and have a strong team with me to hold Westminster’s Tory Council to account and put forward a positive Labour vision of what we would like to see in our city.”

 The full list of new Labour group positions is as follows:

  • Adam Hug: Leader of the Labour Group
  • Patricia McAllister: Deputy Labour Group Leader, adults and public protection spokesperson
  • Guthrie Mckie: Labour Chief Whip
  • Papya Qureshi: Labour Group Chair
  • Vincenzo Rampulla: Housing and regeneration spokesperson
  • David Boothroyd: Finance and customer services spokesperson
  • Murad Gassanly: Business and economic development spokesperson and Deputy Whip
  • Paul Dimoldenberg: Built environment and parking spokesperson
  • Jason Williams: City management spokesperson
  • Rita Begum: Children and young people’s spokesperson
  • Barbara Grahame: Education spokesperson
  • Ruth Bush: Environment and communities spokesperson
  • Barrie Taylor: Health spokesperson
  • Shamim Talukder: Sport, leisure and arts spokesperson and deputy health spokesperson
  • Aziz Toki: Licensing spokesperson
