The City of Westminster had the highest number of road collisions in London boroughs in 2014, according to an interactive map that displays where accidents have taken place since 2005.
The map, produced by Transport for London and the Mayor of London as part of a scheme to improve road safety awareness and reduce the number of casualties in the capital, shows that there were 1,597 road collisions in the City of Westminster in 2014.
The map has been produced according to data given by the Metropolitan Police and TfL.
Councillor Paul Dimoldenberg, Labour Built Environment spokesperson, said:
“These latest figures show that urgent action needs to be taken by the Council to reduce road accidents and introducing a 20mph speed limit on residential streets, like many other London Councils have already done, would be a good start”
